If you pay enough attention to the name of this restaurant, it is spelled as "KoKi Bandung" and not Koki Bandung. According to the waitress there, "KoKi" was actually taken from the location of this restaurant which is at Kota Kinabalu; and Bandung, a city not unfamilar by fellow Malaysian who love Javanese/Indonesian food.
Some foodies told me KoKi Bandung has one of the best Ayam Penyet ("Punched" Chicken with Rice) in Kota Kinabalu. I believed their sambal (freshly ground chilies, shrimp paste, ginger, garlic etc.) made them outstanding. Pecel Lele (Deep Fried Cat Fish), Tenggiri Penyet ("Punched" Mackerel), soto and other Sundanese, Javanese, Padang and local Sabahan's cooking.
