Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa is offering new pastries created by the resort's Executive Pastry Chef Kris Budiarto. Chef Kris was the bronze medallist of Dilmah Real High Tea Malaysia Challenge 2014, and his team was the only winner from East Malaysia. Few days ago I was given an opportunity to sample some of the pastries created by Chef Kris at the Borneo Lounge. Shangri-La Tg Aru.
I am quite fascinated with the Chocolate Pyramid. The chocolate dessert is filled with creamy mousse layered with ever melting dark chocolate on top, fine touched by a piece of golden plated white chocolate. It is good by looking at the pyramid, even better when the chocolate was melting on the palate! Chocolate Tartlet, which is presented in two forms of chocolate - slightly harder at the botton and silky soft chocolate on the top. It was a pure, unadulterated chocolate hit!
Beautiful Fruits (Raspberries) Tartlet, Mille-Feuille (multiple layers of crispy puff pastry and French-custard cream), New York Cheese and Eclairs are among other pastries that are provided at the Borneo Lounge.
