Steamboat Buffet @ Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan, Sabah

BLOGGER'S FOOD REVIEW | Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan

After the Discovering Eclair & Sparkling and Kobe Beef Tasting at the Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu, I was once again joining the food tasting organized by the Starwood Hotel Group, this time at their 4 stars premise at Four Points by Sheraton Sandakan.

Four Points by Shereton Sandakan is located at the newly redeveloped Harbour Square at the Sandakan City Centre, which serves as the city's major business district and the access point to many well known attraction, such as the Agnes Keith's House, Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary, the Rainforest Discovery Centre (Canopy Walk), Kinabatangan River and Labuk Bay - the home for the Proboscis Monkey and more. Due to its unique location - stood up 26 floors tall just beside the bay, providing the most scenic view of the Sulu Sea from each of the every 300 guest rooms here.

I was warmly greeted by Ms. Elsie Boon, the Director of Business Development, and Mr. Gordon, the F&B Manager of the hotel. After showing me around some of the hotel's facilities, I was brought to the hotel's restaurant -- The Eatery at the Level 13 for the sumptuous Steamboat Buffet. I was told that there are more than 100 types of items here on the buffet trays: do expect the freshest prawn, fish, crabs and sea cucumber from the local fishermen (Sabah is the best place for seafood anyway!) and imported mussels; to the wide selections of meats including ostrich! Elsie and I chose the Traditional Chicken Broth and Hot & Spicy Szechuan Broth as our steamboat broths, other choices are: Chinese Herbal Stock, Spicy and Sour Tom Yam, Pepper Broth, Vegetable Broth and the Korean Kimchi Broth.

The Steamboat Buffet is available on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, at only RM48++ per adult, and RM28++ per child. From Monday to Thursday, Steamboat Set is available at the restaurant, starting from 6.30PM to 10.30PM.
