Kobe Beef @ Flames Steak Restaurant, Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu

Kobe Beef is the gems among Japanese-produce beef. Indeed, this marble-like premium quality beef is one of the best meat in the world with signature aroma and aftertaste - due to its evenly distributed fat between the lean meat - and therefore a marble-like or snow-like texture. So, what is Kobe Beef?

FYI, it is almost impossible to find Kobe Beef in Sabah. All the meat is certified and traceable to the breeder and farmer, meat grading, weight of the meat and the name of the authorized shop at foreign countries.

FYI, the Kobe Beef introduced by Le Meridien KK scored Fat Marbling Standard of 6 and Meat Quality Score of 5

To qualify as "Kobe Beef", the Tajima-gyu at Hyogo Prefecture must pass many stringent tests / procedure before certified as Kobe Beef. Each cut of Kobe Beef will be registered, traceable to the breeder, farmer, purchaser, grading, weight... etc. Not all beef produced in Kobe / Hyogo Prefecture can be named as Kobe Beef. In fact, only 0.06% of the annual beef consumption in Japanese is Kobe Beef. Due to the high cost involve in the breeding / farming and high demand over supply, Kobe Beef is so expensive!

Kobe Beef is famous for the very fine muscle fiber, that's the reason why the meat is so juicy and delicate

Flames Steak Restaurant is located at the Lobby Level of Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Opens daily from 12PM - 2.30PM for lunch, and 6PM - 10PM for dinner. Expect quality food from the grill as well as creatively-crafted desserts and mocktails.
