Le Safran @ Suria Sabah

Safran, or Saffron in English is the most expensive spice in the world. It stain yellow when added to any food, be it a special sauce to a steak, a Mediterranean risotto, or fruit cake. I still remember a small pack of saffron thread cost more than AUD20!

Le Safran is located at the third floor of Suria Sabah (near DiGi centre), offering the first French Cuisine to the hungry KK foodies. However, Le Safran got nothing to do with the spice, at least it is off-menu. Let's see what we had for dinner here:

Salmon Pasta (RM16) Good balance of taste and creamy sauce with chunks of salmon. The portion quite small, ideal for a light lunch or afternoon tea.

Tenderloin (RM32) This lightly spiced delicate showed that the chef use only fine quality beef, unlike many other restaurateur emphasize on the marinate to avoid unpleasant smell of the low-grade meat. Credit go for the maple syrup as well which created some degree of uniqueness to the steak. A bit overpriced though, is this a fine dining? Good news for calorie watching ladies but definitely not filling my stomach T__T

How can a French Dinner ended without a French dessert (What a good excuss to gain weight!!!)? We shared a Crème Brûlée (RM8.50). No complain :)

❤ BigFish & I sampled Le Safran ❤

Enjoying the romantic sunset from the restaurant...
